
When applying for THE ACADEMY, it is not necessary for you to register with your local school district for homeschool compliance. Enrollment in THE ACADEMY program will meet your state compulsory attendance law.*
THE ACADEMY is Zion Academy of America’s premium K-12 private school satellite program for distance learning offering customized courses for kindergarten level through college preparatory level to study-at-home students throughout the United States.
THE ACADEMY program offers a structured format to keep the K-12 student on track through every grade level with opportunities to advance at the student’s own pace. Each year, the student will be issued up to 5 core courses through Grade 8. In Grades 9-12, the student will be issued courses to meet ZAA graduation requirements in one of the three accredited high school diploma programs:
- General Studies Course of Study requiring 22 credits
- College Preparatory Course of Study requiring 24 credits
- College Preparatory – Honors Course of Study requiring 28 credits
The school year for THE ACADEMY program runs from September through May as designated on the Academic Calendar. Summer sessions of June and July can be used to complete previous assignments or additional courses. A student may enroll as late as March for the school year already in session.

* Students enrolled in THE ACADEMY program may NOT be enrolled in another public, private, or home school program. They are considered private school students of ZAA and NOT homeschool students of the state. Therefore, parents who find the homeschool law of their state too burdensome or encounter difficulties with the local regulations will find THE ACADEMY program to be the better option.
