GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

THE ACADEMY distance learning program offers three accredited academic courses of study to earn a diploma.

GENERAL STUDIES                                                     22.0 Credits
COLLEGE PREPARATORY                                         24.0 Credits
COLLEGE PREPARATORY – HONORS                   28.0 Credits

 

GENERAL STUDIES

This diploma is designed for a student who has a background of average achievement, as well as the one who needs more emphasis on the basic skills. It is recommended for the average student who has not yet settled on a specific career path or college. It is a distance learning program generally accepted at most colleges.

The General Studies Course of Study must include the following:
(Some core courses can be College Preparatory.)

 

COLLEGE PREPARATORY

This diploma is designed for a student who has a background of an above average achievement and is recommended for the student who desires a college education in preparation for a professional career. It is a distance learning program generally accepted at most colleges and universities.

The College Preparatory Course of Study must include the following:
(All courses must be College Preparatory.)


COLLEGE PREPARATORY-HONORS

This diploma is designed for a student possessing outstanding achievement of academic skills and in most areas. The distance learning student who earns this diploma will be ready to attend top-ranking colleges and universities. The pursuit of this diploma indicates an ambitious desire for the high level of educational attainment.

The College Preparatory – Honors Course of Study must include the following:
(All courses must be College Preparatory.)

Graduation Policy

For a student to qualify for graduation and receive a diploma from Zion Academy of America, he/she must:

- Earn a minimum of five credit hours through Zion Academy of America
- Complete all graduation requirements from one of the accredited courses of study
- Fulfill all financial responsibilities to the satisfaction of the administration

 

SAT/ACT College Entrance Exams:

Students preparing for college should complete the SAT and ACT college entrance exams during their junior and senior years.

CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION

If a student is unable to complete one of the above-mentioned courses of study, a Specialized Course of Study can be prescribed by speaking with an Academic Advisor. Upon completion of the Specialized Course of Study the student will receive a Certificate of Completion through our distance learning school. The student must attempt 4 years of High School. This is not a diploma.
